Maria N. Gravani

Maria is an Assistant Professor in Adult & Continuing Education at the Open University of Cyprus, School of Humanities and Social Sciences, and Academic Coordinator at the OUC for the MA in “Continuing Education and Lifelong Learning” & “Adult Education for Social Change” (ERASMUS MUNDUS). Since 2017 she has been Member of the ESREA (European Society for the Research in the Education of Adults) Steering Committee. She holds a PhD in Continuing Education (2003) (State Scholarships Foundation Scholar), an MEd in Educational Management, Administration & Policy (1999), both from the Graduate School of Education, University of Bristol, UK; and a Β.A. (Honours) in Greek Philology (specialized in Classical Studies), from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece (1997). Maria was an Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) Postdoctoral Fellow, at the Graduate School of Education, University of Bristol (2003-2004), and a Postodoctoral Research Development Officer at the School of Education, Trinity College Dublin, Republic of Ireland (2005-2006). Before moving to Cyprus, Maria has worked as a researcher and tutor in the UK (Bristol University, University College London), in Ireland and Greece (University of Peloponnese, Hellenic Open University, General Secretariat for Lifelong Learning). Maria is active member of professional bodies and committees (including ESREA, PASCAL); sits in the Advisory Editorial Board of the European Journal of Research on the Education and Learning of Adults, and; acts as a reviewer and occational reviewer in a number of international journals (including: Journal of Adult and Continuing Education, International Journal of Lifelong Education, Teaching and Teacher Education, Educational Technology & Society).
